Is Your Hydraulic Leveler Ready for Winter?
by Brian Lindell, Field Technician with 32+ years of experience
One way to make sure it is ready for cold days ahead is to make sure there is no moisture in the oil reservoir.
Moisture can freeze and not allow the power unit to pump oil which will prevent the hydraulics from working.
Moisture can cause the pump and cylinder to rust.
Solution
We recommend the oil level in the reservoir to be checked annually - mark your calendars for every fall. Look for any signs of moisture in the oil (oil has a cloudy/milky appearance when moisture is present). If moisture is present, change the oil and flush the hoses and cylinders per the owner’s manual.
