Is Your Hydraulic Leveler Ready for Winter?

by Brian Lindell, Field Technician with 32+ years of experience

One way to make sure it is ready for cold days ahead is to make sure there is no moisture in the oil reservoir.

  • Moisture can freeze and not allow the power unit to pump oil which will prevent the hydraulics from working.

  • Moisture can cause the pump and cylinder to rust.

Solution

We recommend the oil level in the reservoir to be checked annually - mark your calendars for every fall. Look for any signs of moisture in the oil (oil has a cloudy/milky appearance when moisture is present). If moisture is present, change the oil and flush the hoses and cylinders per the owner’s manual.
